When talking about skin, there are many short and long-term consequences of sleep deprivation. The most visible ones being dark circles, swollen sunken eyes and pale, dehydrated skin. However, the consequences may not be so obvious. Long term sleep deprivation affects collagen growth, skin hydration, wound healing and the texture of the skin. Those who are sleep deprived are known to be prone to inflammation which can attribute to outbreak of acne, eczema and psoriasis.
